(WMC-TV) - Shelby County Sheriff's Office deputies launched a manhunt after a crash on Thursday at Watkins and Thomas Streets.

Frightened neighbors watched and wondered as blue lights from law enforcement flashed in their neighborhood.

"I'm real frightened. My little grand babies around here," said neighbor Suzie Beckmann.

Investigators say two women and two men were arguing in a car when they saw two deputies. The four took off crashing into another car.

Two men, believed to be armed, ran into the woods. The two women were detained and are being questioned.

A weapon was found in the car.

Several people at a motorcycle club heard something outside around the time of the crash.

"All of a sudden we heard a lot of commotion. Squad cars, officers with rifles, next minute more and more was, coming told us to go back in and shut the doors," said club member Marcus Belton.

Officers searched the woods near the motorcycle club. The search was suspended Thursday night.

Algae bloom reaches the Maumee River

For the past 2 months we've been tracking the harmful algae bloom on Lake Erie, but in the past 24 hours it has moved into the Maumee River.  Thanks to calm weather this move has been possible. While widespread algae on the river is not likely, scum along the shores is possible through Toledo. The warm weather the next few days means the bloom is likely to continue. Right now the bloom is not an immediate danger to the Toledo water intake.  Credit: Pete Hustwayte ...
