MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) -

The Montgomery Zoo will host the 38th annual Zoo Weekend starting on Saturday at 9 a.m. and continuing until Sunday at 6 p.m.

The popular two-day annual event is a fundraiser where community partners and citizens of the River Region join together to help generate additional revenue for capital projects at the Zoo.

The Zoo will be transformed for the weekend into a carnival-like environment and will feature multiple events including live entertainment, bake sale, horse and camel rides, train rides, pedal boats, giraffe encounter, exotic animals and much more. The Zoo also offers special discounted membership rates only available during Zoo Weekend.

Admission for adults is $12, $8 for children under the age of 12, and toddlers under the age of 2 get in free. Montgomery Zoo members also get in free. Visit the Mann Wildlife Learning Museum for a discounted price of $3 per person.

Limited parking is available for Zoo Weekend at the Zoo and Mann Museum. There will be a free shuttle bus available that will load at the ADEM facility at 1400 Coliseum Blvd, and will transport attendees for Zoo Weekend to the front entrance of the Zoo.
