TALLAPOOSA CO., AL (WSFA) -

Five of the six suspects allegedly connected to the dog fighting ring last year in New Site, Alabama, have now pled guilty.

According to court records, Justin Calhoun, Eric Calhoun and Sonia Benson all pled guilty on Wednesday.

Justin and Eric Calhoun pled guilty to five counts each for dog fighting. The court gave them credit for time already served and are now on probation.

The court handed Benson a sentence of four months in jail.

Roderick Sweetwyne and Jennifer Kelley were sentenced in April, after pleading guilty for their role in the dog fighting ring.

Sweetwyne admitted his role in the dog fighting scheme and drug distribution charges. The judge sentenced Sweetwyne to five years in a state prison. Sweetwyne could have received 20 years.

Kelley pled guilty to four counts of animal cruelty and received five months in prison per count. She also received three years of supervised probation upon her release.

Decarlos Holley is the last remaining suspect who so far has not had an offer from the D.A.

The ring consisted of 55 dogs that were rescued at three locations in Tallapoosa County. Of the 55 animals, three died.

Investigators say the average bet in this dog fighting case ranged from $3,000 to $5,000.
