The winter that would not end

Rain, sleet and snow made for a memorable Spring Saturday. Rain, sleet and snow made for a memorable Spring Saturday.

Although it has officially been "spring" for more than one week, but all the conditions still show signs of winter. A late season snow storm was to blame for at least two multi-car accidents on I-90 Saturday, March 29 hours apart, but at the same location.

Many motorists are concerned. One told our Blake Chenault "I am scared to get on the highway."

In fact, this season could be remembered as the winter that would not end. "I am super tired of the winter. It is way to long," one person commented.

In preparation for the late season snow storm ODOT had crews out at 10 a.m. and the City of Cleveland will have 26 trucks out in the overnight hours ready to plow the four to six inches of snow expected by Sunday morning.

Anyone venturing out needs to drive well below the posted speed limits. Again, authorities remind drivers heading out need to allow extra time and to drive with caution. Let's hope this is the last blast of winter.
