TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

There is nothing better than a bowl of chili on a chilly spring day.

On Saturday, 22 teams battled it out for the title of best chili in town at this year's Chili Cook off at the Stranahan.

Seven lucky judges got to taste what the teams were offering.

The annual event benefits Mobile Meals, an organization that Toledo mayor and chili cookoff judge D. Michael Collins says goes above and beyond for the community.

"Mobile Meals is dynamic. The leadership over there and what they bring to our community is not really definable. It's a quality that serves our community very well."

Over 500 people packed the Stranahan for the event.

People's Choice winners included:

Media 1st place - 94.5 WXKR "Classic Rockers"

Amateur 1st place - Toledo Police "Jailhouse Chili"

Corporate 1st place - Heidtman steel "Cutting Edge Chili"

Restaurant 1st place - Aunt Deb's Triple Threat Chili

Great Chili Pepper award (best booth design) Toledo Police Jailhouse Chili

Two OSU and two University of Michigan football players were also on hand, signing autographs.
