Perrysburg Planning Commission approves Costco plan

PERRYSBURG, OH (Toledo News Now) -

The Perrysburg Planning Commission approved a plan to build a Costco in the city on Thursday.

The commission voted 5 to 1 to approve the store's final site plan.

The store will be built just off the intersection of Eckel Junction and State Route 25.

There were only some minor conditions placed on the site plan approval. Perrysburg's mayor now says it's up to the property owner and the company to make it happen.

"I'm confident that Costco coming to Perrysburg, it is a win for the city. It helps us balance out a lot of different aspects of the city and it will be a great corporate citizen," said Mayor Mike Olmstead.

Costco must work with Columbia Gas over a pipe line that runs through the property. Costco representatives say construction might not start until next spring.
