FINDLAY, OH (Toledo News Now) - Findlay Police say a suspect is in custody after a police chase through several residential streets and yards ended with the driver being tased Thursday morning.

Police say an officer attempted to make a traffic stop around 4:30 Thursday morning while in the area of Frazer and Bolton streets near the University of Findlay. The driver, Robert Ferdinandsen, 54,  of Findlay, failed to comply with the stop and tried to flee from the officer, who pursued the vehicle.

Ferdinandsen led the officer on several residential streets and through several residential yards before eventually driving through a property in the 700 block of College Street. He attempted to drive between a telephone pole and several trees, and in doing so, became lodged between them.

Then Ferdinandsen fled on foot and was pursued by the officer. After failing to stop, he was tased and arrested.

Ferdinandsen was treated at the scene for asthma-related issues before being taken to jail and charged with Failure to Comply with a Police Officer.

The incident is still under investigation.
