Auburn Hills, MI (WOIO) - With their slim playoff hopes hanging in the balance, and with their top scorer still sidelined by a strained bicep, the Cavaliers needed somebody to save the day on Wednesday night, and Dion Waiters delivered.
Waiters' buzzer-beater stunned the Detroit Pistons, who led by 16 going into the fourth quarter, and gave the Cavs a 97-96 win at the Palace. The win pulls the Cavs to within three and a half games of Atlanta for the 8th and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference, and drops the Pistons to two games behind the Cavaliers.
Waiters finished with 18 points, while Matthew Dellavedova came off the bench to lead the Cavs with 21.
