Vail Meadows Equestrian Center has been rebuilding after a tragic fire took the life of 10 horses a year ago. Now one of the riders has written a book to remember them.

Jessie Rynn, 30, wrote the book, entitled Our Fallen Heroes. Jessie has been riding at the center for 10 years, and now comes every Wednesday. She has Cerebral Palsy.

"They help me out a lot. It feels like I'm walking when I'm riding them," said Rynn.

When 10 therapeutic horses died because of a fire last year, Rynn took it pretty hard. She decided to write a book.

"I have a lot of emotions and I had to get it out on paper," said Rynn.

Our Fallen Heroes is the title of the 10 page book. Throughout the pages, Rynn compiles her personal thoughts, feelings and observations of the tragic fire.

She also talks about a special bond she created with Merrylegs, one of the horses that died, as well as the attachment she has with the center.

"It's my home and I just wanted to let people know how I feel about the fire," said Rynn.

The book has not been published but Rynn is currently selling her book for $5. All the proceeds go to Vail Meadows.

If you would like a copy you can find out how to purchase one here.
