The Indians added some clarity to their 25-man roster on Saturday. The team announced that reliever Vinnie Pestano has made the team. The right hander is attempting to bounce back from the worst year of his career.
In 2012, Pestano racked up 36 holds while posting an ERA of 2.58 and holding opposing hitters to a .207 batting average. In 2013 his ERA climbed to 4.08, the league batted .274 off him. Pestano blames bad mechanics for the tumble. The team feels he is getting back into form.
The club also announced that infielder Elliot Johnson made the team, he carried a .350 batting average into Saturday's game against Colorado.
Jeff Francoeur was released to pursue big league opportunities elsewhere.
