BOWLING GREEN, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Bowling Green Police needyour help finding two men they believe are responsible for stealing catalyticconverters.

Police say the number of catalyticconverter thefts has been on the rise in Bowling Green, with seven incidentsreported since mid-February.

Police say one victim evencaught suspects in the act.

"One of the suspectsactually attempted an assault on one of the victims," said Bowling Green PoliceMajor Tony Hetrick.

Police say the thieves aretargeting cars parked in apartment parking lots on the north side of town.

"I was really freaked outbecause I thought this could happen at any time now that they know my car isback, like, it's probably fixed again and there's a lot of cars like mine inthis parking lot," said victim Marissa Sams.

Police say area residents shouldbe able to spot the thieves.

"They're going underneath thecars, they're jacking them up, cutting off the catalytic converter and stealingit, presumably to be scraped," said Major Hetrick. "We really wanna catch thesepeople. It costs a lot of money to get these things replaced."
