Tiger fans who could not make it to Raleigh, N.C. gathered at watch parties for Memphis' tourney match-up with George Washington. Tiger fever hit Cooper-Young at Young Avenue Deli, and fans sat on the edge of their seats at Buffalo Wild Wings.

"I'm really excited about it," said fan Ted Estes after the win. "We really needed this. I was kind of worried about them. They've been struggling the last few games, but I'm happy they pulled it out."

The Tiger Gift Shop was ready with shirts and hats galore for those in search of proper attire Friday.

"I kinda think it's gonna be one of those games where we finally hit on all cylinders, and we come out and really win comfortably," said Jeremy Stinson with the shop before the game.

Students on the University of Memphis campus were confident in the games' outcome.
