BGSU unveils plans for new aviation facility

BGSU has unveiled a new look for airplanes in the fleet, along with architectural renderings of the facility that will become home to its aviation program.

Planes are getting a makeover,too.

BOWLING GREEN, OH (Toledo News Now) - BowlingGreen State University and the Bowling Green Flight Center unveiled a new lookfor airplanes in the fleet, along with architectural renderings of the facilitythat will become home to BGSU's aviation program.

Theupgrades are part of a new partnership with North Star Aviation Inc. NSA, afull-service general aviation company based in Mankato, MN, has established anOhio company and will provide flight training as Bowling Green Flight CenterLLC.

Threeof the six planes in the fleet have been serviced and painted, including aPiper Seminole and two Cessna C172 Skyhawks. They will be on display andavailable for tours.

Universityofficials say the new planes will help students be more competitive.

"Newequipment, new facilities; that will keep the students coming back on a moreregular basis," said Bowling Green Flight Center General manager KevinDoering.

Studentsagree.

"[Itwill] give me a foot up when I enter the industry down the road," saidBGSU senior Bryan Combs.
