Oregon PD looking to identify credit theft suspect

Oregon Police are asking forthe public's help identifying a man they say somehow loaded a victim's creditcard number onto a card with his name and went on a shopping spree.

Police say the man boughtan Xbox at Walmart, more than $500 worth of games at GameStop and a 60 inch TVfrom K-Mart.

It is not clear how theman go the victim or victims' credit card information, but Oregon Police saythere are a few was to avoid becoming a victim. First, check your credit anddebit card statements often. Report any fraudulent activity as soon aspossible.

Police say consumers shouldalso be on the lookout for skimmers. Skimmers are small devices placed over ATMor credit card slots designed to read credit card numbers. They say if you seea piece or addition that doesn't look permanent, it's probably not supposed tobe on the machine.
