TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Chances are you've seen a lot of green around town this week. Monday was Saint Patrick's Day and while many had to work, several people were Irish for the day and hit the pubs to celebrate.

Crowds piled into The Blarney in downtown Toledo. If you wanted to celebrate with some green beer or Irish car bombs that was the place to be.

Some showed up as early at 8:00 in the morning and kept the party going all night.

They came dressed in crazy outfits and were ready for a good time. Among the crowd was John Schaub who donned a leprechaun outfit.

"This is a nice little $22 outfit from Spencers," said Schaub.

With Saint Patrick's Day falling on a Monday many patrons got their fill of Guinness the weekend prior, but those at The Blarney say Monday was the only day to really celebrate.

"We do it every year. Take the day off and start early in the morning and go as long as I can," said Schaub.

Besides celebrating the holiday, those that came out to The Blarney helped a good cause.

Monday was the birthday of fallen firefighter, Steven Machinski. The proceeds raised were donated to the firefighter fund in his honor.
