Curtice barn destroyed in fire

CURTICE, OH (Toledo News Now) -

A barn was destroyed after it went up in flames early Saturday morning in Curtice.

It happened just before 3 a.m. on Corduroy Road, near Decant.

Fire crews arrived to the scene to find the entire barn engulfed in flames. All animals were safely moved away from the barn.

Firefighters from Jerusalem and Carroll Township helped battled the blaze, along with the joint Allen-Clay Fire Department.

Tankers had to be used to put out the flames, because no fire hydrants were close enough nearby.

Fire investigators say the barn is likely a total loss. It's unknown at this time who owns the property.

The fire is under investigation.
