Our news viewers sense what Chrys' colleagues at WTOL know: She's an extraordinary journalist and we can all be grateful she shared her talents with us for so long.

Chrys gets attention for her work as an anchor and in the community, but she's just as gifted when she gets out from behind the anchor desk to share her personal talents.

When she wasn't pulling on heart strings or covering important news, Chrys has put her voice on display elsewhere. In 2009, Chrys and co-anchor Jerry Anderson teamed up to perform a Captain and Tennille classic during a Toledo Rotary Club fundraiser.

For the past three years, Chrys has offered her talents, along with other local musicians, to the local Make-A-Wish holiday fundraiser, the Holiday Wishes CDs.

Last year, two of Chrys' loves came together: singing and baseball. She was honored to sing the National Anthem at the Mud Hens home opener.

In 2010, Chrys hit the stage at the Lucas County Rib-Off, performing with Phil Vassar.

She not only had connection that got her on stage, but in the air, as well.

In 2002, Chrys got the chance to ride in style with one of the Blue Angels pilots. They came to town as part of the Toledo Air Show. She was flipped and tossed in the air with the pros, but she made it through and was even able to walk when it was done!

Chrys was an anchor and reporter, and she played one on TV, too. In 1996, she had a guest role on "As the World Turns" playing, of course, a TV reporter. After all, it's a role she knows very well.
