Easy, healthy side dish for your crock pot

TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

As Heart Health Month comes to a close and the bathing suit season is set to begin, eating healthy and getting fit is on the minds of a lot of people.

There are several dishes, like spinach dip, that can be tweaked into an even healthier form by swapping out a few ingredients.

For busy families, canned vegetables can be a great alternative to cooking with fresh ones. Canned vegetables, like spinach, often last longer and are packed with nutrients.

Nathan Drendel, of Promedica, joins Your Morning Saturday to showcase an easy, versatile spinach artichoke dip using Allens Vegetables that any mom can recreate in her crock pot in a pinch.
