TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) - A man hit by a driver as he walked along Alexis Road Wednesday evening has died. Donald Galdys, 59, of Toledo was transported to an area hospital after the accident where he was pronounced dead.
Robert Conboy, 83, of Toledo was arrested shortly after the accident Wednesday. Police say Conboy was driving east on Alexis Road when he hit Galdys as Galdys walked towards traffic along Alexis at Rambo Lane on foot. According to a police report, Conboy did not stop.
Witnesses called 911 and followed Conboy's vehicle from the scene, police said.
Conboy was arrested and taken to the Lucas County Jail. His bond was sent at $5,000 when he was arraigned in Toledo Municipal Court Thursday morning.
Conboy is set to make another appearance in Toledo Municipal Court Friday morning after hiring a lawyer.
