The Olympics begin
tonight. But let's not forget about other types of Olympic events.
This time of year is exciting
for Beth Meyer, who is a skier. While she won't be in Sochi,
she will be in Cleveland this week competing at the Ohio Special Olympics.
Meyer lives at
Bittersweet Farms in Whitehouse. It has served autistic adults dating back to

that she got interested in skiing.
"The founder of Bittersweet
downhill skis and had a program where they took us skiing. Within an hour I
learned how to ski and loved it ever since," said Meyer.
Meyer is in the giant
slalom and downhill events at the Special Olympics. Her dream would be making
the national team in a sport she loves.
"I like the
challenge of it. I like the feeling and fun of gliding down the hill. And it's
just fun to be outside and on the skis. I look forward to it every year," said
