TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Robert Easter Jr. has been a busy guy lately. Easter has been a professional boxer a little more than a year, but already has a 9-0 record.

The lightweight fighter is back in Toledo between fights. Easter is just about what you'd expect out of a lightweight; small build with lightning hands. Those quick hand pack a powerful punch, though. Eight of Easter's nine wins as a professional have come by knock out.

"On January 25 they threw a test in there for me. They threw a guy that was a veteran and, you know, he had over 35 fights. He was 35 years old. He's been in the game a long time. But he also fought for a title before. A lot of people don't know that," said Easter Jr. "I won impressively. You know, two knock downs."

Easter trains in Cincinnati, but spends as much time as he can in Toledo. When in the glass city, he works with his father, Robert Easter Sr. The older Easter also racked up nine victories as a pro, and says he and his son have a plan.

"We step up the ladder every time we get an opponent. That is the idea. For us to build this up to go for that junior world title. Then, probably, by the middle of this year, probably late July, August, around that time, we going for a junior title. By then he should be about 12-0, 13-0," said Robert Easter Sr.
