Toledo Auto Show starts Thursday

TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

The 2014 Greater Toledo Auto Show starts Thursday at the SeaGate Convention Centre downtown.

See all your favorite sports cars, sedans, SUVs, minivans, and motorcycles from 25 different manufacturers, and enjoy some fun for the whole family.

State law doesn't allow dealers to sell cars at the event, just lure customers into the showroom.

One salesman says it helps sales having potential buyers roaming around, kicking the tires and getting behind the wheel of a vehicle.

"It's definitely going to bring us business, get us a lot more customers. Good deals right now. Auto show brings in business," said Ron Egert with Jim White Honda.

Many visitors feel going to the show can help their car buying decision.

"This way you don't have to travel all around town, and you can see all the different automobiles in one place," said Don Shafer.

"It gets everything in one place. See it without running all over. Get in here, play with the toys. Good time," said Rick Rulman.

The automobile industry employs more than 50,000 Ohioans. Retail sales last year totaled $34 billion.
