SCOTTSDALE, AZ (CBS5) -

"Tips for Jesus" has returned to the Valley.

The mystery tipper left $2,000 for a bartender at an Old Town Scottsdale bar Thursday night.

The bartender, Kristi Jonas, said she was "blown over" by the gesture she received at the Derby Public House at 4420 N. Saddlebag Trail in Old Town.

The tippers are part of a national movement who leave large tips for unsuspecting restaurant and bar workers.

A mystery tipper who used the same "Tips for Jesus" moniker left $2,500 on a $530 tab for Micah Olson, bartender/owner of Crudo in Phoenix on Dec. 3.

"I looked down and it was $2,000, and when I looked back up they were filing me on their phones and then they told me, 'Hey, we're those guys. We're the tips for Jesus guys," Jonas said.

She said she's going to pay her Christmas bills with the generous tip.

"I have my daughter and I have my stepdaughter too and they got spoiled, so now we get to repay that money," Jonas said.

She also shared some of the wealth with her coworkers.

"I feel like if I'm going to make money, we're all going to make money and I voluntarily tipped out other people as well," Jonas said.

Kristi said the one thing tippers asked of her was not to tell who they were.

"It was way more than I would have ever dreamed for and the fact that they were so nice made it even better," Jonas said.

The tips are being tracked on the "Tips for Jesus" Instagram account.
