LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) - Hundreds of children and families received warmth from the community Monday.

Feed the City hosted the 12th annual Warm a Heart coat program at City Church in the Parkland neighborhood.

During the event children received new toys, a warm meal and winter weather necessities to keep them warm with the temperatures drop.

Pastor Larry Coleman with Feed the City said, "If you want to change a community, you need to get involved in the community. So our involvement today is to give a warm coat, we're giving toboggans and gloves, we're helping families with food today and it's just going to be a wonderful time here in our community."
