Two men injured in Springfield crash on Saturday morning

SPRINGFIELD, MA (WSHM) -

Two men were injured following a crash around 6:30 a.m. on Saturday.

The crash happened near the intersection of Alden Street and Island Pond Road.

Dennis Leger, aide to Fire Commissioner Joseph Conant, told CBS 3 that the car hit a pole and it was trapped under live electrical wires.

Both men in the vehicle were taken to the hospital.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
