The Browns have placed receiver Davone Bess on the non-football illness list, he is out for the rest of the year. Bess missed practice on Thursday and Friday this week with non-injury related issues. He'd been listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Jets.
According to the Plain Dealer, Bess has been dealing with a serious family matter for most of the season involving a family member in California. He is from the Oakland area.
The 28-year-old finished his first season in Cleveland with 42 catches for 362 yards and two touchdowns. It is the first time in his six-year career that he didn't catch at least 50 passes or gain at least 500 yards receiving. Bess also had 14 drops on the year, a number that currently leads the NFL.
