Arkansas to receive home test from scrappy South Alabama

(RNN) - After clobbering UT-Martin 102-56, Arkansas (8-2) continues its homestand against South Alabama with an 8 p.m. tipoff on Saturday, Dec. 21.

Arkansas got 42 points and 30 rebounds from its frontcourt, including senior Coty Clarke and freshmen Moses Kingsley and Bobby Portis. The team shot 61 percent from the floor against the overmatched visitors.

USA is 6-5 and has fallen in all three of its road games so far, to Texas (84-77), Middle Tennessee (65-55) and Rice (96-93 in three overtimes).

Augustine Rubit provides most of the offensive punch for USA. He's the only player scoring double-figures, with 18.7 points per game. Rubit's best game came in a 68-59 loss to No. 20 Gonzaga, when he scored a career-high 35.

They only shoot about 40 percent from the floor but have a great outside game, hitting 38 percent (97-257) of their 3-point shots.

Rubit and Mychal Ammons combine to average 18 rebounds per game. Ammons scores 9.8 points per game.
