Buzzfeed names Scuba Santa one of most extreme Santas in world

NEWPORT, KY (FOX19) -

The popular social news and entertainment website Buzzfeed listed Newport Aquarium's Scuba Santa as one of the world's most extreme Santas in the world.

BuzzFeed staff writer Mike Spohr, who published the feature article, wrote, "At Scuba Santa's Water Wonderland, which runs through January 1st, this Santa swims with a shark ray. NBD (No big deal)."

Newport Aquarium's Surrounded by Sharks exhibit, where Scuba Santa performs his dive shows, actually features four shark rays, the largest collection on display in the world.

The Scuba Santa® Water Wonderland – which has been featured on ABC's "Good Morning America", NBC's "The Today Show", CBS' "The Early Show", FOX News "FOX & Friends", USA Today and The New York Times – is one of the tri-state area's favorite holiday traditions.

The Kentucky Travel Industry Association has also named The Scuba Santa® Water Wonderland a Winter/Holiday Top 10 Festivals & Events in each of the past two years, and five of the last nine overall.

Scuba Santa® and his magical underwater sleigh, seahorses and Pixie the elf delight and amaze while inside a 385,000-gallon tank.

The dive show features Scuba Santa entertaining the audience from beneath the sea, highlighted by a special underwater reading of "Twas the Night before Christmas" from Santa's Magic Story Book.
