According to police, Thursday's accident happened at 9:07 p.m. at the intersection of 6th and Main Streets when a red car rear-ended the carriage, causing serious damage and allowing a horse to get loose. The driver left the scene.

The horse, which was not injured, had to be chased down. It was located near 9th and Market Streets.
