MONROE, LA (WAFB) -

Neville High School safety Laurence "Hootie" Jones announced Monday morning that he has verbally committed to the Crimson Tide.

Jones' commitment to Alabama gave the Tide some good news after a shocking 34-28 loss to Auburn in the Iron Bowl Saturday.

The 6'2", 210 pound defensive back picked Alabama over LSU.

Jones, a 5-star safety, also had offers from Ole Miss, Texas, Ohio State and Stanford.

In September, West Monroe offensive lineman Cameron Robinson also picked Alabama over LSU.

Cameron, a five-star offensive lineman, is considered to be the number 1 prospect in the nation according to 24/7 Sports.
