Holyoke man arrested for guns, drugs


Holyoke police along with federal authorities arrested a man in his Hampden Street apartment and recovered guns and drugs. 

Monday afternoon The Holyoke Police Narcotics/Vice Unit, along with agents from the Western Mass Gang Task Force, agents from Alcohol Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and agents from the Federal Drug Enforcement Agency executed a search warrant at 309 Hampden Street.

Inside they say Pomales had a .45 cal semi-automatic handgun along with rounds of ammunition, 114 bags of heroin and cash.

Jose Pomales was charged with:

  • Poss. of a Firearm w/out License
  • Poss. of Ammunition w/out FID card
  • Poss. to Distribute Class A (Heroin)
  • Poss. Class A (Heroin)

Pomales was arraigned in Holyoke District Court on Tuesday. 

This is not the first run in he's had with the law. 

Police say they arrested him back on July 9, 2013 on drugs and weapons charges.
