A 3-month-old baby who police say suffered a skull fracture last week while in the care of a Crescent Springs, Ky. man has died.

Robert Schierer was arrested Nov. 12 following an incident in the 2400 block of Horton Street. Emergency crews were dispatched to his home for a report of an infant not breathing.

Upon arrival, medics administered CPR and the baby was taken by ambulance to St. Elizabeth Edgewood. The 3-month-old was then airlifted to Cincinnati Children's Hospital on life support.

Schierer, 23, was previously charged with one count of first degree assault in connection with the baby's injuries. During a court appearance Wednesday, his charge was upgraded to one count of murder.

He's currently being held on a $500,000 bond in the Kenton County Jail.
