Historical building becoming town houses in the Warehouse District

TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

More and more people are starting to call downtown home.

In fact, 3,000 people live in downtown Toledo right now, and about 500 people live in about a 10 block radius called the Warehouse District.

Right now a lot of hard work is going on at Easy Street to increase those numbers and make this area into luxury town homes.

Back in July, Lorenzen Realty started working on a historical building downtown to turn it into a town house community that will have 5, 2,000 square foot units with private balconies.

Justin Lorenzen, who is working on the project, says it will bring a piece of the big city like New York, to boost Toledo's downtown.

"It's sort of like a domino effect. More people living downtown, they can support the downtown businesses, maybe walk to work, open an office down here. Like I said, there's been a lot of enthusiasm, and the more construction people see going on, I think it just keeps them excited," said Mr. Lorenzen.

Lorenzen hopes to have this place ready for people to move in by May of next year.
