PERRYSBURG TOWNSHIP, OH (Toledo News Now) -

The National Weather Service has confirmed four tornados touched down in northwest Ohio Sunday, including an EF2 that hit Perrysburg Township and traveled more than 10 miles up into Oregon. It was on the ground for about 20 minutes with winds speeds between 120 to 125 mph.

All that's left untouched where the tornado hit is the cement. Clean-up will continue for days, even weeks, but progress is being made.

Many buildings, like the VPD warehouse, are missing pieces, stripped of metal roofing and siding.

Debris was wrapped all over trees nearby and could be found up to a quarter of a mile away.

"Standing at the front door, actually, and the wind picked up and the lights went off. Then I told my wife to head to the basement, and as soon as we hit the basement floor, that's when we heard the glass breaking and everything," said Jeffrey Sims.

After seeing all the damage in his community, Sims says it put things into perspective on what he feels is really important in life.

Anne Cowens says her family is lucky to be alive.

"Tom thought he was going to go flying. Everything was falling out of his shelves. His house was twisting. Everything was falling out of his shelves and his walls. We're just so grateful everyone is OK," said Cowens.

Maia Belay is surveying damage around Perrysburg today and will have more details in her reports tonight on WTOL 11 News starting at 5.
