National Weather Service: 4 tornados touched down in northwest Ohio Sunday

The National Weather Service says one tornado's path stretched 12 miles, from the intersection of Lime City Road and US 20 in Perrysburg to the corner of Corduroy Road and Wynn Road in Oregon. The Jerry City tornado touched down near the intersection of Huffman Road and Jerry City Road, then traveled about 1 mile east before lifting back up into the sky. PERRYSBURG TOWNSHIP, OH (Toledo News Now) -

The National Weather Service has confirmed four tornados touched down in northwest Ohio Sunday.

The first tornado touched down in Paulding County and ran for about eight miles into Putnam County.

The EF2 tornado first touched down about one quarter-mile south of the intersection of Route 66 and County Line Road in Paulding County around 4:51 p.m., and lifted about five miles northeast of Cloverdale in Putnam County approximately eight minutes later. The tornado was estimated to be about 440 yards wide, and had maximum sustained winds of 130 miles per hour.

The second tornado hit Perrysburg and ran north more than 10 miles into Oregon.

That tornado, classified as an EF2, was on the ground for about 20 minutes with winds speeds of 120 to 125 miles per hour. The National Weather Services says the tornado first touched down near the intersection of Lime City Road and US 20 in Perrysburg at 5:35 p.m. Sunday. The twister headed north, continuing to the intersection of Corduroy Road and Wynn Road in Oregon at 5:55 p.m. The tornado ripped a path between 150 and 200 feet wide across the stretch of northwest Ohio.  

The third tornado, rated as an EF1, was on the ground for about five minutes and sustained winds of between 105 and 110 miles per hour.

That tornado was between 75 and 100 feet wide. It first touched down near the intersection of Main Street and Huffman Road in Jerry City at 5:35 p.m. Sunday. The tornado continued about a mile east along Jerry City Road before lifting back into the sky at 5:40 p.m.

The fourth tornado hit about 3 miles east of Elmore, Ohio.

The twister, rated as an EF1, was on the ground for about three quarters of a mile. It first touched down near Yeasting Road and State Route 590, about 3 miles east of Elmore, at 6 p.m. Sunday. The tornado was between 50 and 75 yards wide, and had maximum sustained winds of 95 miles per hour.

    ProMedica does not seem to be slowing down its buying spree. Reuters reported that ProMedica is acquiring HCR Manor Care. According to Reuters, ProMedica is teaming up with Welltower which is a Toledo based real estate trust. The two are proposing a purchase of bankrupt HCR for $2 billion.
