    The Crimson team outlasted the White team 24-12 in Alabama's 2018 A-Day game. The Crimson team scored three touchdowns, coming on a 1-yard run by Brian Robinson, a 65-yard pass from Mac Brown to Chadarius Townsend and a 46-yard pass from Jones to Xavian Marks. (RNN) - The Wall Street Journal has officially called upon Auburn to end Alabama's dominance of college football.

A tongue-in-cheek column, written by Rachel Bachman on Nov. 10 after Alabama dominated LSU, took the form of an open letter to Auburn coach Gus Malzahn.

Bachman wrote:

"Your Tigers host Alabama on Nov. 30, and could be the only thing standing between the Crimson Tide and yet another appearance in the national title game - which, I think we can agree, is getting a bit tedious. That's why you need to prevent it from happening. You need to take back the state of Alabama."

The column goes on to point out that Florida State, Stanford, Baylor and Ohio State all have interesting, exciting teams this year, and Auburn itself is resurgent after last year's disappointing season.

"Alabama is the only team that brings no mystery to the table. The Tide are simply so good, so methodical, that they seem to remove the element of chance. Without it, what's the fun of watching? But you, and Auburn, can change all that with one big game," she concluded.

She also said that Auburn's fast-paced offense is the sort that gives the Crimson Tide trouble, and the Tigers' convincing win over Tennessee and solid scoring defense may give them the best chance of stopping Alabama's drive to a third straight national title.

Auburn must get by Georgia this weekend, and Alabama has to beat Mississippi State and Chattanooga before the Iron Bowl, which is shaping up to be one of the most meaningful in recent memory.

If both teams win out, it will decide the winner of the West Division of the SEC.
