Mizzou dominates Southern Illinois 72-59

COLUMBIA, MO (RNN) - After a close first half, Missouri pulled away after the break, beating the Salukis 72-59 in their second game of the season.

The Tigers (2-0) led in shooting and 3-point shooting and made almost two-thirds of their free throws. Jordan Clarkson scored 31 points with three rebounds and five assists. Jabari Brown scored 17 points with seven rebounds and two assists.

The Salukis (0-1) gave the Tigers a challenging game in the first half, taking the lead on three different occasions with the largest lead being four points. The Tigers led 35-34 at the half and never lost their lead in the second half, dominating by as much as 17 points.

This is Missouri's 20th consecutive home game win, and the Tigers haven't lost to a non-conference opponent at home since the 2005-06 opener.

This is the second game of Missouri head coach Frank Haith's five-game suspension following an NCAA ruling for his role in a scandal when he was head coach at Miami.

The Tigers are now preparing to play the Hawaii Warriors at the Kansas City Sprint Center on Saturday, Nov. 16.
