ADRIAN, MI (Toledo News Now) -

Thesnow and colder temperatures have a serious affect on those without a home. Nowa Lenawee County group is working to make sure the homeless have a place to goto stay warm.

DamascusRoad Ministry in Adrian says this is the busiest time of year for them. As thetemperature drops, more and more people come through their doors.

"Theycan watch TV, they can use our laundry facilities, take a shower, have snacks, warm up, just rest," said Bob Fultz, president of Damascus Road Ministry.

Theorganization is designed for those who have recently been released from jail orprison and have nowhere else to go, but the president says they've grown overthe years and now provide help to anyone who needs it.

"Ithink it's life-saving," Fultz said. "It just lets them know the community hasn'tforgotten about them.

Privatedonations have always covered the cost of food, electricity and heat at thefacility.

"It'swhat keeps us going," said Fultz. "It's the only thing we get. Everything we'vegot is paid for by us and it's all by donations."

ButFultz says over the last few years, the need in the community has increased.

"It'schanged from what most people think of a homeless person," he said. "We havehomeless families, homeless youth."

Sothe organization is relying on the community to come together once again andhelp support them. Donations are tax deductible and can be made online or sent to:
