(Toledo News Now) -

As Thanksgiving approaches, many families seek the help of others to cater the big feast. But one local restaurant was caught catering illegally, and the Lucas County Health Department plans to follow up.

In 30 days, the Whitehouse Inn in Waterville will be greeted by Lucas County health inspectors again, because during its Oct. 28 inspection, 14 violations were noted. The biggest violation was the facility's illegal catering. Management was advised to cease the operations until it has been formally approved by the health department. Additionally, the facility lacked soap and paper towels, and food was found on the floor in the walk-in cooler. Inspectors recommended cleaning, especially along the kitchen's hood system, in its prep sink and in the dish room. Flies were also seen throughout the restaurant.

Insects at Biggby's on Madison Avenue in downtown Toledo were found underneath the back counter, marking just one of four violations.

A whole lot of cleaning is necessary at Schmucker's Restaurant on North Reynolds Road, according to inspectors. Five violations were found at the west Toledo establishment, including build-up inside the ice machine and dust on the ceiling fan. Inspectors also deemed the floors, walls and ceilings unsanitary.

Happy Hour on Eleanor Avenue in west Toledo received eight violations during its visit at the end of October. Inspectors found improper date marking, chicken stored improperly, water pooling in the bottom of a beer keg cooler, along with a dirty ceiling beginning to bubble.

Swanton's Subway on Airport Highway is violation free this week and no violations could be found at Bob Evans on Salisbury Road in Maumee.

After double overtime, the Toledo Walleye came out on top and beat the Indy 3-2 Thursday night for a sweep in the series. Even though the fish had a 3-0 lead in the first round playoff series, the toughest thing to do in hockey is to beat a desperate team on their home ice.  Halfway through a second overtime Kyle Bonis sets up Christian Hillbrich to score the game winning goal.  The Walleye now advances to the second round. They will play the winner of the Fort Wayne and ...
