Joseph Crapsey Joseph Crapsey
PERRYSBURG TOWNSHIP, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Forover a year, Perrysburg Township Police have been chasing after two men theybelieve are responsible for stealing thousands of dollars in tools from WoodCounty businesses.

Victimssay the suspects rammed their car into a garage door at T. Gray Automotive andtook everything they could get their hands on – nearly $40,000 worth of handtools.

"Myheart dropped," said Marcus White, an employee at T. Gray. "The tools that weuse here are my livelihood. They provide for his family and my family."

Policesay Joseph Crapsey and his relative Christopher Crapsey robbed the shop andthree other businesses in the township and Rossford in August of 2012. Policebelieve they are also behind potentially a dozen other robberies in Wood andLucas counties.

Thepair has been charged with grand theft and vandalism, among other things.

Afterthey stole the tools, police say the suspects sold them at Toledo flea marketsand on Craigslist.

"It'sthe dead of the night and no one is around, and they're forcing their way intoa business and then cleaning out the mechanics' tools," said Det. Sgt. JamesGross.

Eventhough it happened more than a year ago, White says he's learned to never takeanything for granted.

"Asfar as blocking the door and locking toolboxes," he said. "We've never had thefear of being broken into prior to that, and we never even locked ourtoolboxes, so this definitely changed the way we look at stuff."

Policestill have a room full of evidence from the robberies, but they need help findout who it all belongs to. Anyone with information about the robberies is askedto call police at 419-874-3551.
