GARDEN CITY, SC (WMBF) - Under a South Carolina state statute, you can be charged with assault by mob anytime there are two or more individuals who have a premeditated motive to assault another.

A Myrtle Beach teenager is wanted by the Horry County Sheriff's Office for allegedly doing just that.

According to the police report, 19-year-old De'Aisha La'Shai Denton and another female followed a woman to the Texas Roadhouse in Garden City where they got out of the car and attacked her in the parking lot. They allegedly pushed her, punched her in the face, and pulled her hair.

"This is something that started at another location, this person was followed and so you have premeditation there, and that is why assault by mob statute was used," said Sgt. Jeff Benton of the Horry County Sheriff's Office.

Police say the victims injuries weren't too severe so Denton is only facing third degree assault and battery by a mob. The charge is a class three misdemeanor and if convicted could put Denton behind bars for up to one year.

Denton is 5'7", 130 pounds, and her last known address is on Village Drive in Myrtle Beach. If you have seen her, call the Horry County Sheriff's Office at 843-915-8347 or contact Horry County Dispatch at 843-248-1520.
