MAUMEE, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Students from Maumee High School's Interact Club are making a difference on a global scale. They are prepared packages to send to people in need, all the way in Tajikistan.

The students filled bags for three hours with self-contained meals. Rice, grain, vegetables all will go a long way. Each bag can feed a family of six, and the students packed 10,000 bags Tuesday.

"I just feel like I'm making a difference, and that it's really going to help people in the end," said Ashlee Balcerzak, a member of the club. "People do take it for granted that we have food on our table, but a lot of there people don't. So together, me and my friends, we're all working together for this."
