The cleaner the kitchen, the better the food? Lucas County health inspectors think so, but that's not what they found.

Panda Chinese Restaurant on Sylvania Avenue in west Toledo received six total violations in its last inspection. Inspectors are calling the facility's conditions "unsanitary and inadequate." Food was found uncovered, a sink was far too dirty, and litter was seen inside.

Also on Sylvania Avenue racking up violations was McDonald's. Inspectors noted violations against its employees who were wearing jewelry and sporting artificial, polished nails.

Happy Rose Buffet on Airport Highway in south Toledo racked up 17 violations. Black build-up was discovered inside the ice machine and grease build-up was found on the cook line and dish room walls. Inspectors also found damaged ceiling tiles and food improperly dated.

At the Sonic Drive-In on Secor Road in west Toledo, inspectors found hot dogs, chicken and eggs all expired.

Up the road at the Golden Dragon, seven violations were served. According to inspectors, the dish machine wasn't dispensing sanitizer, plus floors, walls and ceilings were covered in food debris and grease.

If you're looking for somewhere to grab a snack, try Cafe Donuts on Monroe Street in west Toledo or the Sundance Kid Drive-In on Navarre Avenue in Oregon. Neither restaurant received violations.
