Although hitting the neighborhoods for trick-or-treating on Halloween isn't an option for most communities, there still are other options available for dry and safe fun.

Our Facebook page was buzzing with viewers wondering if city officials would pull the plug on trick-or-treating.

"We didn't know if trick-or-treat was going to be changed. We thought we'd come out during the day, while we could be dry, and they could have some trick-or-treat fun anyway," said Kelly Demars.

When many communities began postponing events, there were dozens of upset little boys and girls. But spirits are still high at Bass Pro Shop in Rossford, as indoor festivities carry on.

Bass Pro wasn't the only place to be for Halloween fun. Toledo's Westfield Franklin Park Mall had trick-or-treating, plus arts and crafts.

Some parents say they were more than happy to be inside.

"It's pretty gross out, and I wouldn't want to take her out and be cold. But, I understand, when we were kids we had sweatpants, sweaters, all that good stuff," said Ali Evans.

The decision to celebrate indoors had parents thinking back to Halloweens past.

"We just always did rain or shine," said Demars.

Still, they all say they're happy their little ghosts and goblins didn't have their holiday spoiled.

"No, it's wonderful. It's for the kids. We have to remember that, and I'm just so happy that my boys had somewhere that they can go during the day to do trick-or-treating. It was awesome," said Sherelle.

If you're still looking for something to keep your little ones busy Halloween night, head over to Bass Pro Shop. Trick-or-treating takes place from 6-7 p.m. and craftmaking continues from 5-8 p.m.
