Area dentists offer cash for candy, ship candy to troops

Some area dentists are offering kids a chance to earn some money for their Halloween candy and help out soldiers stationed overseas at the same time.

TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) - Some area dentists are offering kids a chance to earn some money for their Halloween candy and help out soldiers stationed overseas at the same time.

Dr. Jonathan Frankel of Toledo, Dr. Michael Carpenter of Napoleon and Brookview Dental in Sylvania are buying candy this Halloween as part of Operation Gratitude, which sends care packages to troops stationed around the world.

Each dentist office has promised to pay $1 per pound of candy donated. Dr. Carpenter is enforcing a limit of $10 per child.

All three dentists will then send the collected to soldiers stationed overseas this holiday season.

Candy buyback locations and times include:

Jon Frankel Dentistry of Toledo - 5012 Talmadge Road, Toledo.

  • November 1 - 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
  • November 4 - 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Frankel and Puhl Dentistry of Maumee - 4359 Keystone Drive, Maumee.

  • November 1 - 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
  • November 4 - 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Brookview Dental – 7135 Sylvania Avenue, Sylvania.

  • November 4 – 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • November 5 – 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Dental Excellence of Napoleon - 610 Broadmoor Avenue, Napoleon.

  • November 4 to 8 - 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. (Mon-Wed 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. - Thursday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. - Friday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.)
