3 workers hit by car in Bradner

BRADNER, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Three CSX transportation workers were hit by a car Monday morning near Bradner, Ohio.

CSX had Bradner Road closed at James Street, just south of Bradner, to work on the railroad Monday morning. Shortly after 11 a.m., 26-year-old Cory Rickard, of Woodville, drove around two sets of barricades and into the construction site, according to the Wood County Sheriff's Office.

Rickard struck a utility pole and three CSX workers. He sustained minor injuries. The workers - Luis Knott III, 58, of Banner, KY, Jim Conley, 58, of Findlay, and Paul Castle, 34, of Paintsville, KY - were transported to the hospital. Castle has been reported in critical condition.

The accident is still under investigation.
