Construction on Sylvania Ave. causing headaches

TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Sylvania Avenue has a closure that will stick around for the next few weeks.

"I don't get any mail, I have to go pick up my mail at the post office," said resident Jamie Coll.

Jamie Coll has lived on Sylvania Avenue for more than 10 years, and has seen a few construction projects take place on the busy street the past few years.

Coll says the westbound lane closure in front of his house is an inconvenience now, but understands the two-way left turn lanes being added, will be a benefit for his neighbors to the west.

Just a few years ago, Coll says a turn lane was added in front of his house.

"That's been pretty nice to tell you the truth," said Coll. "It's easier for me to get in and out with that turn lane, but right now, it's not so much fun."

The westbound lane will remain closed until traffic is flipped on Oct 28. At that point, the eastbound lane will be closed.
