Sylvania agency needs food, personal care donations

SYLVANIA, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Sylvania Area Family Services has expanded its building, but it desperately needs help with keeping shelves stocked.

Final touches are being done to the Sylvania Area Family Services (SAFS) new 5,000-square-foot addition, a project that has taken seven years to complete.

SAFS Executive Director Jason Robertson says the new space will help them expand their services.

"This expansion is going to help out immensely with all of our programming, and then also double as rentable space for our agency to generate some more funding," he said.

But Robertson says they are in need of some items essential to helping others. Their food pantry supplies are running low and there are many bare shelves. He says they are in desperate need of non-perishable food items, among other things.

"Personal care items are always a big thing that we're looking for, only because it's not covered under food stamps," he said.
