BOWLING GREEN, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Bowling Green Police say a man they were looking for has turned himself in.

Warrants were issued for 40-year-old Lonnie Wells III. Police say on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m., Wells went to Woodland Mall's Quarters Bar on North Main Street in Bowling Green and assaulted a man his ex-girlfriend was with, along with her friend. They say Wells threw his ex-girlfriend into a wall and started kicking and punching the man with her. Then he fled the scene before police could arrive.

Although the bar was crowded, officials are concerned why that failed to stop Wells' actions.

"We think that shows the mentality of the perpetrators. They will stop at nothing to cause this other person physical harm. We consider him pretty dangerous," said Major Tony Hetrick with the Bowling Green Police Department.

Hetrick says the day after the attack, Wells called his former girlfriend, with whom he has a child, and said he would kill her and her friend.

Felony domestic violence and attempted felonious assault warrants were issued by the BGPD. The Wood County Sheriff's Office also issued a warrant for intimidation of a crime victim.

"He's got a violent history, a violent past. He's assaulted this victim before, and he did do some time for that. So that elevates the offense to a felony level," explained Hetrick.

Bowling Green Police reported Wells turned himself in Friday evening without incident.

After double overtime, the Toledo Walleye came out on top and beat the Indy 3-2 Thursday night for a sweep in the series. Even though the fish had a 3-0 lead in the first round playoff series, the toughest thing to do in hockey is to beat a desperate team on their home ice.  Halfway through a second overtime Kyle Bonis sets up Christian Hillbrich to score the game winning goal.  The Walleye now advances to the second round. They will play the winner of the Fort Wayne and ...
