(WMC-TV) - There are rumblings that a Memphis dive bar known around the world has an uncertain future after its owner was found dead inside last month.

Russell George was found dead inside his bar, Earnestine and Hazel's, in September. And while some have been speculating about what the future holds for the legendary bar, sources say there are no plans for it to change or close.

"We expect it to be here, most probably long after we're gone, with a little luck," said Dale Tuttle, attorney and friend of Russell George. "Determined that the legacy with Earnestine and Hazel's would continue and it has and it is and we believe it will."

The Earnestine and Hazel's legacy is one that brought tourists, musicians, and filmmakers to the hot spot on South Main.

Pictures of famous visitors line the walls and many who stop by ask about the "Soul Burger," which is arguably as famous as some of the people who have set foot inside.

"We believe it will continue and just grow, not change," said Tuttle, who has no doubt that the staff will continue George's legacy.

Tuttle says the bar has been lucky enough to continue hosting parties, including several during October. There are signs of good things to come in what Tuttle calls a "booming South Main district."
